Few people have questioned the core values of humanity as much as Klaus Schwab, the founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The philosopher-turned-billionaire businessman has been derided by some as the architect of the globalization of corporate rule and praised by others as an intelligent man with valuable insight into our collective future. But no matter where you stand on him, there's no denying that his ideas have had a massive impact on the world economy and geopolitics in recent years—and will likely continue to do so in the coming years and decades.
Background on the Elite and their Agenda
While you may not know Klaus Schwab by name, there's a good chance you know his work. The German economist developed an influential framework called The Global Competitiveness Report in 1989. It was designed to help governments identify ways to improve their countries' economic competitiveness on a global scale. Since then, it has been adopted by more than 100 countries worldwide and multinational organizations like the European Union and United Nations. In 2015, Schwab founded The World Economic Forum (WEF), which organizes an annual meeting of world leaders in Davos, Switzerland, that draws thousands of business executives from around the globe each year. His latest book, The Fourth Industrial Revolution, argues that we are currently living through an era of rapid technological change unlike anything humanity has ever experienced before. According to Schwab, these changes will have far-reaching implications for how we live our lives and how businesses operate. He believes they will ultimately force us to rethink everything about our society—from our education system to our economy—and usher in a new era of human history he calls the fourth industrial revolution.
The Elite Keep Us Divided
As you walk down nearly any street in America—or Europe or Asia—you'll see inequality. Some have money; some don't. Some own fancy cars; some ride bikes. And so on. But why do we allow such a large gap between our social classes? Is it because we want it to live? Or is it because of something else...something more sinister? Could it be that there are people out there actively trying to keep us divided? Could it be that there are people out there actively trying to control us? Yes, I know what you're thinking...this sounds like crazy talk. This sounds like conspiracy theory nonsense. But let me ask you one question: How much do you know about Klaus Schwab? If you were asked to describe him, how would you respond? Well, he's a business leader from Switzerland. He founded an organization called The World Economic Forum (WEF). He's worth 8 billion dollars. That's all most people know about him. But if they dug deeper into his background, they might find some disturbing things...things that suggest he has his sights set on creating a new world order. Things suggest he's part of a group with global ambitions. Things suggest he wants to divide humanity into two groups...the rich and everyone else. Things that indicate he wants complete control over our lives.
Where Are We Going?
Klaus Schwab and The New World Order: Where Are We Going? What Is Humanity?: What Is Humanity?
Some want to control the world, like Klaus Schwab. There are homeless people, starving people, and rich people. Human beings are just trying to live their lives and survive. But what makes us human? In a time where technology is making leaps and bounds daily, we as humans need to ask ourselves what it means to be human in today's society. Will our children look back at us in disgust for all of our war-mongering, or will they see us as pioneers of a new age? As I write these words, I think about how my life has changed over my lifetime and how much more rapidly everything seems to be changing now. And with each change comes a new set of problems. How do we solve them? How do we find meaning when there is so much chaos around us? It seems that every day there is some tragedy on TV or online news outlets. Is this information accurate? These tragedies seem to be happening more frequently than ever before, but why does it feel like nothing ever changes? Maybe things aren't getting worse; perhaps we are just noticing them more because of social media. Or maybe, things have gotten worse, and we can no longer ignore it because of social media. Perhaps if you don't have social media, you wouldn't even know about these issues! If everyone had access to Facebook and Twitter, everyone would be aware of everything going on in the world. Do we not deserve to know what is going on? Do we not deserve to understand what is happening? I guess that depends on who you ask. Some people say that understanding something doesn't mean anything unless you take action after understanding it. Others say that taking action isn't enough unless you know why it needs to happen first. Does anyone else feel like they are caught between two worlds right now?
Final Thoughts
Klaus Schwab famously said, "We would not change society by just dreaming about it." We must write software. He's right — but only up to a point. Software isn't an end unto itself; instead, it's a means to an end. And that end goal should be what we care about—humanity. So let's use technology to help make humankind better for everyone. Because when you think about it, that's all any of us want. It's why we work so hard at our jobs. It's why some of us became entrepreneurs in the first place. Its's time to get back to basics. Time to start thinking more about people than profits. Time to get back in touch with what matters most. Ourselves. Each other. The world around us. Let's get back to being human again . . . because that's what makes business worth doing in the first place. (emphasis added) - Source: Forbes magazine, March 2016 issue.
